But, the Netherlands international’s meteoric rise means he would walk into any top European side’s first XI, a factor that could entice him if Real Madrid come calling.
Tottenham’s main priority has to secure Van de Ven’s future amid growing interest from Madrid. After skipper Cristian Romero committed his future, the Dutchman might be tempted to follow suit and build his own legacy at the club.
