Steven Gerrard is 'very keen' to secure a return to Liverpool as speculation over Arne Slot's future continues.
The Dutch boss is under scrutiny after a disappointing start to the season at Anfield. After winning the Premier League title last term, the hope was that they would go on to retain their crown this season.
However, Liverpool are sitting sixth in the table right now and 10 points behind current league leaders Arsenal.
While results have been poor, the Reds have won back-to-back games over Inter Milan and Brighton this week, taking their run to five unbeaten in all competitions.
Gerrard Keen To Secure Liverpool Return

Steven Gerrard is 'very keen' to return to Liverpool, according to Football Insider.. The report states that the Reds' legend would find it very difficult to turn down the offer to rejoin the club as interim boss after making more than 500 appearances for the club during a decorated career.
Gerrard's most recent position was with Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League — a role that he left in January this year. Since then, the 45-year-old has been seen carrying out punditry work with TNT Sports.
While Slot's position isn't thought to be in immediate danger, the report claims that the club held internal discussions over Gerrard, who is the bookies' favourite to succeed the Dutchman if he is moved on.

While a return to Liverpool would clearly be an appealing option for Gerrard, he does face a tricky situation. It's been reported that Gerrard’s tax situation may prevent him from joining Liverpool until at least April. That could make a return to Anfield quite tricky.
Away from the Liverpool role, the 45-year-old will be keeping an eye out for his next opportunity.
After succeeding in Scotland with Rangers, Gerrard endured a mixed time with Aston Villa before being sacked and replaced by Unai Emery. At Villa Park he won just 12 of his 38 top-flight games in charge of the Villans, leaving him with a win percentage of just 31.58 per cent.
He then joined Al Ettifaq where his time came with mixed reviews.
I'm sure that Gerrard will enter management again but it will be very interesting to see where he will pop up. A job in the Premier League could be a big ask, with the EFL Championship or Scottish Premiership perhaps being more likely.
