Everton star James Garner fared once again for David Moyes in the 2-0 loss to Chelsea on Saturday afternoon, with fans eagerly awaiting an update on his contract.
James Garner has been in fine form for Everton this season, featuring at left-back, right-back and in his natural central midfield position with the club entering the top half of the Premier League table.
The former Manchester United starlet has been one of David Moyes’ most consistent performers this season, playing a major part in their huge run of form throughout November and early December.
And with a new Everton contract in order, the Englishman has spoken out on a potential deal being thrashed out at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Speaking after the 2-0 loss in the capital, the midfielder admitted that he wasn’t thinking about a new deal, instead just concentrating on his football.
James Garner has six months left on his current contract at Everton, though the club have a year’s extension to activate on his contract.
And the 24-year-old says he is focusing on his football whilst the longer details are being deliberated by the club and his representatives – as well as praising David Moyes taking the club on ‘leaps and bounds’.

Garner said after the defeat: “I haven’t thought much about it, no. I am just touching in week in, week out.
“You can’t really think too far ahead, so week in, week out, I am just trying to get better as a player and try and help the team as much as I can.
“Yes, of course, we have come on leaps and bounds since I first joined the club, so we are definitely moving in the right direction.”
Although his performance didn’t warrant points for Everton on Saturday, previous performances mean that an extension will be a priority for the club.
Everton will want to act quickly on James Garner’s contract with an England call-up around the corner
James Garner has been touted for an England call-up ahead of the World Cup in the summer, and it’s no surprise why.

Although it’s been the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye who have stolen the headlines for their superb attacking displays, Garner’s versatility and consistency in the midfield has been nothing short of exceptional.
The result against Chelsea was hopefully just a blip in the road and if the Toffees can take something against Arsenal next Saturday, it could be a huge statement in their quest for European football in the coming weeks.
