Nottingham Forest could still hijack Liverpool's move for Celtic teenager Dara Jikiemi.
Reports last week claimed that Jikiemi had all but sealed a move to the Reds and a dream switch to Anfield.
But according to Sports247 in Nigeria, no deal has been finalised, which has given Forest hope they can still pull off his signature.
The Scottish international was reportedly excused from national youth duty to facilitate his move to Liverpool, with terms believed to have been agreed between both parties.
Even at his tender age, Jikiemi has demonstrated maturity and leadership, having captained Scotland's Under-15s side.
Celtic would receive training compensation if the youngster departs, as he is a product of their academy.
Jikieme turns 16 in January and Liverpool would like to add the defender to their academy teams for the remainder of the season.
Forest have shown they are prepared to invest in top talent for the future, with Jikiemi regarded as one of the best defenders in his age group in the country.
