Atlanta Hawks star Kristaps Porzingis will be forced to miss a significant number of games following a concerning injury update.
Atlanta Hawks / Schedule
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Porzingis will miss the next two weeks due to illness and will undergo further examinations.
Charania noted that both sides are prioritizing Porzingis’ long-term health, as he has missed seven of the last eight games.
Porzingis was diagnosed with the autonomic condition, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), last season in Boston.
He and doctors found solutions over the summer to manage his health and he entered the Hawks season in good condition - before recent bout of illness.
Acquired from the Boston Celtics this past offseason, Porzingis is averaging 19.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.6 blocks in 25.9 minutes per game across 13 appearances this season.
