Cavaliers earn brutal historic feat after scoreless OT vs. Hornets

The Cavs made a blunderous history of their own as they failed to score in overtime, which led to their Sunday loss against the Hornets.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are enduring a rough progress in this 2025-26 season, and this Sunday couldn't be more frustrating for them as they came up short again.

Cleveland Cavaliers / Schedule

Cleveland took a 119-111 overtime loss this weekend against the Charlotte Hornets, and the Cavs can only blame no one but themselves in this disappointing outing.

They failed to score a single point during the five-minute extension, becoming the first team in 10 years to attain the brutal feat.

The Cavs are the 8th team in NBA history to have a scoreless overtime, following the Chicago Bulls back in 2015. They went 0-10 from the field, which led to their awful loss.

Donovan Mitchell, who finished with 17 points, could have won it for the Cavaliers in regulation. He missed the three-pointer in the final possession that sent the game to overtime.

Cleveland will look to bounce back on Wednesday as they'll play the Chicago Bulls on the road.
