All the latest injury news surrounding Chelsea and Cardiff City ahead of their Carabao Cup clash.

Chelsea are back in action on Tuesday night when they take on Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup quarter-final. The Blues returned to winning ways on Saturday after four games without a win, beating Everton rather comfortably.

Attention now turns to a trip to South Wales to take on League One leaders Cardiff, who have won their last five league games, scoring three or more in four of those games. They are currently four points clear at the top of League One, and they have beaten Premier League and Championship opposition on their way to the last eight, seeing off Burnley and Wrexham.

As Chelsea prepare to face Brian Barry-Murphy’s men, we have rounded up all the latest injury news surrounding both sides.

Omari Kellyman - Out (Ineligible)

Kellyman has been doing well for Cardiff, including scoring on Saturday, but he will be ineligible to face his parent club here.

Rubin Colwill - Out

Colwill picked up an injury in late November that will keep him out until the new year. Barry-Murphy said at the time: "Rubin's timescale will be 10 to 12 weeks. There's a discussion over the next 24 hours about whether he will have surgery or not.”

Ollie Tanner - Out

Tanner has been out for four months after a leg break, but he is now back in training. Still, it’s going to take some time before he is available to play in games. Barry-Murphy has said: “Ollie's back in full training today [Thursday] so that's his first day back in full training for us today so that will be good for him.

”To have somebody of his calibre coming back into the squad is very much like a new signing for us. He'll obviously tell you he's available much sooner, which is great because he feels so good and he's looking so good. But I just think with the amount of time he's been out for would mean that we just have to be mindful of building him back up to a healthy level of fitness before we expose him to the games he's going to have to play."

Gabriel Osho - Out

Osho has a toe injury that will keep him out for a few weeks. Barry-Murphy said last week: "I think from his own point of view, he wants to show everybody what he can do and his team-mates and our supporters. The longer he's been here, it's become more obvious to his team-mates how valuable he's going to be for us in the long run. He just wants to show that to the support as well. But it's not going to be possible for a few weeks, based on what happened on Tuesday."

Cole Palmer - Doubt

Palmer is being managed due to a groin issue. Maresca was asked, after Palmer played and scored on Saturday, whether the England international can play twice in one week. He said: “In this moment he can't play.” Asked more specifically if he will be involved on Tuesday, Maresca clarified: “Probably not." He will go down as a doubt, but Palmer is likely to miss out.

Liam Delap - Out

Delap picked up a fresh injury against Bournemouth. Maresca has said: “We don't know yet. It could be two, three, four weeks. We don't know exactly how many days he will need.”

Romeo Lavia - Out

Lavia is not expected back from his hamstring issue until early January.

Levi Colwill - Out

Colwill is out for the season with a serious knee injury. It was confirmed back in August: “Levi has today undergone successful surgery [for] an ACL injury. Medical assessments confirmed surgery would be the required course of action. Levi will now begin his recovery and be supported by the medical department at Cobham during his rehab phase.”

Dario Essugo - Out

Essugo is likely to return in January. Maresca has said: “Dario, he was okay, started some sessions with us, but he needs to slow down a little bit and will be out, but we hope nothing important. We hope he will be fine.”

Mykhailo Mudryk - Out (Suspended)

Mudryk is suspended. A club statement in the summer read: “We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with Anti-Doping Rule Violations alleging the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance, in terms of Regulations 3 and 4 of The FA's Anti-Doping Regulations. As this is an ongoing case, we are not in a position to comment further at this time.” Mudryk is not included in the final count due to the nature of his absence.
