The Hawks announced Sunday that Porzingis will miss at least two more weeks as he continues to deal with an illness.
It is a similar issue to what slowed him down last season in Boston. Before the update, Porzingis had already missed seven of Atlanta's last eight games.
The timing matters for a Hawks team sitting ninth in the Eastern Conference with a 15-12 record.
Porzingis has played in 13 games this season and has been productive when on the floor. The Latvian big man is averaging 19.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game. He is shooting 49.7 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from three.
