After weeks of headlines dominated by Mohamed Salah’s Leeds interview and subsequent fallout, Liverpool can finally shift focus to what matters most – collective success.

The Reds have steadied the ship with five consecutive games unbeaten, recovering from a dire run of nine defeats in 12 matches that sent shockwaves through Anfield.

Recent victories, including a commendable win over Inter Milan in European competition and a commanding 2-0 triumph against Brighton where Salah impressed off the bench, have been well-received by the fanbase.

With Salah now departing for the Africa Cup of Nations – set to run from December 21st to January 18th – other players have the chance now to step up and strut their stuff.

However, speaking to Viaplay (via the Echo) after the win over the Seagulls, Curtis J0nes addressed the Mohamed Salah situation further:

“We all love Mo. I love Mo,” said Jones, who hit a milestone 200 appearances for the Reds on Saturday. “At my hardest times at the club, you know, he was always one of the ones who was there. I could always speak to (him). And it’s exactly the same now.”

“Mo’s his own man, he’s got his own opinions. And, you know, I don’t think his intentions were to affect the team or anything like that. It was just a personal thing. And as everybody knows, the team, the fans, the staff, we all love Mo. He’s a great guy.”

Jones then revealed that Salah had “made it clear” that his outburst was a personal issue and nothing to do with any teammates:

“I don’t really like to speak on another man’s issues or his business and stuff – that has to do with Mo. But at the end of the day, I think the important thing that Mo made clear was that it’s not against the team or anything like that, just a personal issue, and that’s it.”

Liverpool are next in action away to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday for a 17:30 GMT kick-off.
