Everton preparing groundwork to sign player – Can be flipped for quick transfer profit

Everton have Rayo Vallecano’s Nobel Mendy on their radar, according to journalist Rudy Galetti.

He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to cover the initial work carried out by Everton to sign the 21-year-old. The Toffees have added the centre-back to their target list and have gathered information about him.

Galetti makes it clear that Everton have only made a preliminary approach so far. The possible deal is still in early stages, which is why there’s been no negotiations or formal offers.

David Moyes’ side seem to have laid the groundwork for a potential transfer either in the winter market or next summer. Unión Rayo relay that and point out his current situation.

Back in August, the La Liga side signed Mendy from Real Betis on loan with an option to buy. According to Unión Rayo, the Spanish club can buy 80% of Mendy’s rights for €3m plus bonuses.

Rayo have the option to Mendy’s stay permanent and then sell him to Everton for a quick profit.

Mendy ended up at Rayo after missing out on moves to PSV Eindhoven and Rangers last summer.
