Enzo Maresca’s comments after Chelsea’s win against Everton seemed to overshadow the fact that the Blues were finally back to winning ways.
Even Cole Palmer’s first goal since returning from injury wasn’t enough to take the spotlight off the manager, who had claimed he had not enjoyed the build-up to the Everton game.

Wayne Rooney believes Maresca is facing a losing battle, with it seeming that he was showing his frustration at the backing he had received from the higher ups at the club.
The boss made it clear though that he was not against supporters, even though some of those have not been completely won over by him since he arrived in West London.

Enzo Maresca committed to Chelsea despite outburst after Everton win
It was no surprise that Maresca’s comments dominated the pre-Cardiff press conference, however the boss didn’t want to add much more to what he had already said.
He said to Football London: “I already spoke about that and I don’t have nothing to add. It’s Cardiff tomorrow, please. I already spoke about that and I think I was quite clear. No more than that.
“I respect your opinion and people’s opinion. I have nothing to add. My focus is on tomorrow’s game and that we can achieve the third semi-final in my time at the club.
“We are in an era where everyone can say what they think. I respect people’s opinions, your opinion, but I have nothing to add. My focus is on tomorrow. I already answered the question and my focus is on tomorrow. I don’t have nothing to add.”
When asked if he was committed to the job at Stamford Bridge, Maresca said: “Absolutely, yes.”
Chelsea already have Maresca alternatives ready
If the shocking decision is made to replace Maresca, Chelsea have at least four names already on a shortlist to replace him at the helm.

One of those is club legend Cesc Fabregas, whose managerial career has got off to a very strong start at Como in Serie A.
Closer to home, the Blues are admirers of Oliver Glasner and Andoni Iraola, and The Chelsea Chronicle believe the Crystal Palace man would be the best bet should a decision be made.
However, the club should no doubt put their faith in the current manager, who delivered two trophies to Stamford Bridge in just his first season at the club.
