The Hungarian has established himself as one of the Reds’ key players, arguably even being the first name on Arne Slot’s teamsheet.

So when he was taken off at the weekend due to an ankle injury, everyone was fearing the worst, especially after Slot admitted it did not look too good.
Reports from Hungary suggest he has had initial tests, though, with the results giving supporters a glimmer of hope.
Dominik Szoboszlai does not have a serious injury
Szoboszlai is not the type of player to simply just give up, so when he goes down, there really must be something wrong.
He has been one of the most influential players in a Red shirt so far this season, so having him available for the Tottenham game at the weekend is imperative.

This is certainly a positive sign, although they do go on to say that ‘it will likely be known in the second half of the week whether he will be able to play in the league match against Tottenham’.
So at the moment, it is a bit of a touch-and-go situation, but the good news is that he is not expected to be out for longer than Liverpool can afford.

It might seem obvious to say he should not be rushed back, but due to how important he is, Liverpool cannot afford any setbacks.
The fact he had played 90 minutes in every Premier League and Champions League game up until the Brighton match also proves how a rest might be necessary, especially if he is not 100% fit.
The key indications as to how serious it is will be understood during training this week as well as Slot’s press conference, but for now, Liverpool fans will just have to pray.
