Raptors’ Barrett to begin return to play activities this week

Toronto Raptors forward RJ Barrett, who hasn’t played since Nov. 23 due to a right knee sprain, is making progress in his return to game action.

The team announced Monday that the 25-year-old Canadian is scheduled to begin “return to play activities” this week after receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection.

Before going down with his injury, Barrett was averaging 19.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists on 50.6 per cent shooting over 17 games in 2025-26, his third season in Toronto after being acquired from the New York Knicks in late December of 2023.

The Raptors have dropped four straight and six of their last seven games following an impressive nine-game win streak.

They currently sit fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 15-11 record and take on the Miami Heat in South Beach on Monday night.
