Mohamed Salah’s turbulent week took a turn for the better on Saturday when he came off the bench to help Liverpool seal a convincing 2-0 victory over Brighton, easing tensions that had built up following his fiery public outburst.
After being left out of the matchday squad for Liverpool’s Champions League trip to Inter Milan midweek, the Egyptian superstar had made headlines with explosive comments suggesting he may depart Anfield. However, positive talks with manager Arne Slot on Friday paved the way for his recall against the Seagulls.
But the situation is not entirely cleared yet with the Egyptian now meeting up with his nation for AFCON 2025.
Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Liverpool and Ramy Abbas, the agent of Salah, will hold talks in Liverpool while the 33-year-old is at AFCON to try and end the situation:
“What’s next for Mo Salah? In Liverpool, the agent of Salah, Ramy Abbas, will be in England to have conversations with club management and to discuss the situation,” Romano explained.
“It’s time for them to take a decision together on what’s happening next. I maintain my information on what Liverpool believes. They are not in a hurry to sell Salah or to find a solution for Salah.”
“If he wants to stay with this conditions, they are more than happy, if he wants to go, Liverpool say ‘bring a proposal to the table and show us… let us know what you have for us'”.
“At the moment, no official proposals apart from Saudi interest arrived on Liverpool’s table for Salah.”
“This is why there’s going to be this meeting with his agent, to try and understand how to move forward in the next weeks.”
