Thomas Frank’s future at Tottenham Hotspur is under growing scrutiny following a humiliating 3-0 defeat away to Nottingham Forest. Spurs are languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League after Frank replaced Ange Postecoglou in the summer.

Although they had gone three matches unbeaten before the loss at the City Ground, pressure is intensifying on the Danish coach, with Tottenham having lost as many league games as they have won this season. Sections of the home support have also voiced dissatisfaction with Frank’s style of play.

Tottenham face a resurgent Liverpool side on Saturday before travelling to London rivals Crystal Palace. While Frank has insisted there is “no quick fix” to the club’s slump, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Spurs chiefs are waiting to see an upturn in results before making any decision on his future.

Internal discussions are said to be ongoing, with Frank aware he must quickly turn things around. Since a 3-0 win over Everton on October 26, Tottenham have won just one of their last seven league matches, a 2-0 victory over Frank’s former club Brentford, suffering six defeats in total this season.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario came under heavy criticism after the Forest defeat, having gifted two goals to Callum Hudson-Odoi. Thomas Frank had faced increased internal scrutiny following defeat to Fulham on November 29, which left Tottenham with just one win from eight matches. However, there has been no serious consideration of sacking the Dane, with the club accepting that setbacks are part of their long-term plan under the former Brentford boss.

Frank signed a three-year contract in the summer following Postecoglou’s dismissal, which came despite the Australian leading Spurs to Europa League glory and a 17th-place league finish. Romano, writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter, said: “There’s pressure, there are internal talks but still waiting to see results improving. Thomas Frank knows that the rhythm must change soon.”
