Paul George responds to haters calling him 'washed' with clear message

Paul George believes people are quick to forget everything he’s done in the league prior to coming to Philadelphia, and he uses the “washed” accusations as motivation to get healthy and let everything else take care of itself.

Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George addressed the “washed” accusations from fans after the Sixers’ 120–117 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.

George delivered one of his best performances in some time, finishing with 35 points (11/21 FG, 7/9 3PT) and 4 rebounds, looking like his old self.

Speaking to the media after the game, George was asked about the claims that he is “washed.” He said people tend to forget the type of player he was before coming to Philadelphia and that he now uses those comments as motivation to get healthy and let his game speak for itself.

“I mean, prior to coming here, I was coming off one of my most efficient seasons. I was an All-Star that year. I didn’t see myself being washed that fast, but I knew. I knew that this league is about what you can do now, and they tend to forget everything that I have done,” George said after the game, via SixersWire.

“So, it was a bit of motivation going into the summer to just get healthy and kind of let everything else take care of itself,” he added.

This season, George has appeared in 10 games for the Sixers, averaging 17.1 points, five rebounds, and 3.3 assists in around 26 minutes per game.

Meanwhile, the 76ers are currently 14–11, good for seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
