The Chicago Bulls have been stuck right in the middle of the NBA. Over the last few years, they haven’t been good enough to make deep runs in the playoffs, but they also haven’t been bad enough to get one of the top picks in the Draft.
That is the worst place to be in the league. The Bulls have been hesitant to tear it down, though. They refuse to start over and start rebuilding, even if that might be the best thing for the organization. Chicago hasn’t won a playoff series since 2014-15.
Right now, the Bulls sit 11th in the Eastern Conference standings. A recent trade proposal from Bleacher Report would see them finally admit that they need a rebuild, trading Coby White for pieces.

Coby White Gets Traded in Smart Trade Proposal
Here is the full trade proposal:
Coby White to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Rob Dillingham, Joan Beringer, and Leonard Miller.
White has had some injury issues this season, playing in just nine games. His 3-point shooting is the worst it has been in his entire career, but his offensive rating is the highest it’s ever been. He is a valuable player when he is healthy, but that hasn’t been the case this season.
Dillingham and Beringer are young, intriguing prospects. The Bulls need to get younger as a team. White is a player that Chicago would like to hold onto if it can, but he is also the best asset the Bulls have. His injury concerns are an issue, though.
The Bulls likely would try to get a first-round pick in a trade like this. If they are going to actually start a full rebuild, they are going to need to accumulate draft capital. Minnesota drafted Beringer with the 17th overall pick in this year’s draft.

The Bulls Need to Start a Rebuild
It has become abundantly clear that the Bulls are not good enough to contend with the way they are currently constructed. They need to start a rebuild in order to return to being perennial playoff contenders. Right now, they have the seventh-worst offense in the league.
Fixing that offense is going to be the key for them to transform the organization into a better team in the next few years. This would be the year to facilitate a rebuild and start tanking. The top of the draft is the strongest that it has been in quite some time.
Jerry Reinsdorf has refused to tear the team down. Yet, getting a younger, better team is exactly what is required. White is going to be a free agent next season, and it’s unlikely that the Bulls are going to want to give him the raise that he will be seeking in the summer.
Right now, White is making $12.89 million in the final year of his deal. If he is moved, he will be looking to sign a contract extension with his new team that is worth much more than that on an annual basis.
