Callan Hamill, Maalik Hashi and Louis Zecevic John were all on the scoresheet as Arsenal U18s commenced their FA Youth Cup campaign with a 3-1 victory away to Mansfield Town tonight.
The victory means that Adam Birchall’s side will face Manchester City away in the fourth round.
Arsenal were without a host of key players, with Max Dowman and Andre Harriman-Annous absent due to injury, while Marli Salmon and Josiah King were suspended with Ife Ibrahim also missing.
Hamill, Sam Chapman and Maalik Hashi all started as they made their first appearances known this competition.
On the bench schoolboys Kyran Thompson and Angelinou Pedro received their first callups in this competition along with first year scholars Abraham Owusu-Gyasi, Patrick Stachow and Bowen Phillips.

Zecevic John found the net himself just after the hour mark to make it 3-0 before he was replaced by Thompson.
Mansfield managed to get a goal back through Mace Oldershaw but Brando Bailey-Joseph then netted his first goal in this competition to make it 4-1 to Arsenal.
Marciniak subsequently entered the fray in place of Hashi and Bowen Phillips replaced Bailey-Joseph in the closing stages as Arsenal saw out the game and returned to winning ways.
