Enzo Maresca has insisted he still has a strong relationship with Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali after his "worst 48 hours" comments over the weekend.
The Blues head coach stated in his post-Everton press conference on Saturday that the build-up to the win at Stamford Bridge was the "worst 48 hours" he had experienced during his time at the club. Maresca described a lack of support, although did not specify who from, as the reasoning behind this.
On Monday afternoon, in his pre-Cardiff City press conference, Maresca had the opportunity to clarify what he meant at the weekend, but did not want to get drawn into anything when questioned by reporters. Speculation over the past couple of days had suggested a potential rift with the club's hierarchy, including co-owners Boehly and Eghbali, but he dismissed that notion on Monday.
When asked if his relationship with the owners was still good, Maresca replied: "It's okay. It's good." And he was then asked if it was as good as it has ever been, and responded: "I think so, yes."
Maresca was keen to switch everyone's attention to the task at hand on Tuesday evening as the Blues take on Cardiff in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup. A win for Maresca and his men would see them reach a third semi-final of the Italian's tenure at Stamford Bridge.

There could be a return to the side for Moises Caicedo. The Ecuador international has now served his three-match suspension for the straight red card he picked up in the draw with Arsenal last month.
Typically, this would have been a game where Maresca would look to rest Caicedo, but given he has played just one match - the defeat to Atalanta where he was not suspended - in the last fortnight, there could be a temptation for the Chelsea boss to use the midfielder.
When asked by football.london if that is the case, Maresca did not want to give too much away: "He is available. He can play. He is back, finally. We can use him."
