Davis (calf) won't play for the Mavericks against the Jazz.
The Dallas Mavericks have taken a precautionary move for Anthony Davis' condition.
Heading to their Monday matchup against the Utah Jazz, the Mavs announced that the star big man won't play due to a left calf contusion.
Calf injuries have been ravaging multiple players around the league right now. As for Davis, this issue forced him to miss 14 consecutive games earlier this season for Dallas.
The Mavericks center is averaging 20.0 points, 10.5 boards and 3.2 assists across 11 games this year.
Meanwhile, the Mavs announced that Daniel Gafford will make his return to the group against the Jazz upon a three-game absence from a right ankle injury. He'll likely replace Davis as the starting center tonight.
