Alperen Sengun was full of praise for Nikola Jokic, talking about earlier comparisons with him, and creating his own path with the Houston Rockets.

Game was marked by an amazing matchup between Nikola Jokic and Alperen Sengun.
Jokic notched his 12th triple-double of the season with 39 points (5/9 3PT, 8/18 2PT), 15 rebounds, 10 assists and two blocks.
This is also Jokic's 176th triple-double of his career, he's now just 5 behind Oscar Robertson on the all-time list.
Alperen Sengun was also shining in Rockets' loss with a triple-double of his own, consisting of 33 points (14/27 FG), 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
"I'm like that. Last time I didn't do a great job against him, now I was more focused. We played very physical and that's what we want," Sengun started post-game.
Sengun made a little mistake later on, saying that Nikola Jokic won two NBA MVP awards, when he actually has three:
"He's amazing, great in offense, he does whatever he wants and has Jamal [Murray] next to him. We are trying to contain him but we know we can't touch him because he will get a foul."
"I don't know, he has two MVP titles and that's it. When he was at my age he also didn't receive fouls, so I hope I'll reach that level. But, he's already making tough shots, and you can't even touch him."
Sengun liked the comparisons with Jokic early on, but now wants to focus on his own path:
"It was cool when I arrived to the league because he's the best player in the league and you want to be compared with him. Now I want my own path though. I'm leading one of the best teams so that changes everything, but I can't prevent people from comparing," he concluded.
