Arsenal Star Out For A Month‘Minimum’As Arteta Suffers Another Injury Blow

Arsenal centre-back Ben White is expected to be sidelined for “a minimum of a month” with the hamstring injury he sustained against Wolves at the weekend, according to reports.

BBC Sport reporter Sami Mokbel has very strong sources inside the Gunners’ dressing room and he says the estimated return date for White is between 4 to 6 weeks.

While the medical team have not confirmed the recovery time yet, it is expected that White will not be back available before mid to late January.

Manager Mikel Arteta claims White’s injury was a direct result of the squad being stretched too thinly at the back, following injuries to Gabriel and Cristhian Mosquera:

“He hasn’t played a lot of minutes because of the previous knee issue that he had. Then the moment he started to get some momentum, he had to play a lot because we didn’t have any other solution.”

How many Arsenal games could White miss?

The 28-year-old will be sidelined for seven fixtures, at the very least. He will be absent for the Everton (a) clash, Crystal Palace (h) in the Carabao Cup, as well as Brighton (h), Aston Villa (h), Bournemouth (a), Liverpool (h) and Portsmouth (a) in the FA Cup.

If White is on the treatment table for a six-week period, he may also be unavailable for the trips to Nottingham Forest and Inter Milan (in the Champions League) as well as the home games against Manchester United and Kairat (in the Champions League).

4 other players missed training on Tuesday

White is by no means the only injury concern for Arteta. In addition to the aforementioned Gabriel and Mosquera, Max Dowman and Kai Havertz are not currently fit.

Havertz is, at the very least, back out on the grass as the Sobha Realty Training centre but the German is not expected to play before the end of this month.
