Chelsea enter race to sign "one of the best wing-backs in the PL", Estevao will love him -…

While it hasn't all been smooth sailing for Chelsea this season, there has been plenty for the fans to celebrate.

One of the most exciting developments so far has been the emergence of Estevao.

The 18-year-old superstar in the making has far exceeded expectations so far and has already established himself as one of the most dynamic attackers in Enzo Maresca's squad.

So, fans should be delighted about reports linking Chelsea with an international ace who could help get even more out of the Brazilian.

Chelsea target dream teammate for Estevao

Even before his arrival on these shores, there has been plenty of hype around Esetvao, so much so that respected analyst-turned scout Ben Mattinson labelled him a "future Ballon d'Or winner" before he signed for Chelsea.

However, even though the expectations placed upon him were sky-high, few expected him to make quite the impact in his first campaign with the club that he has.

For example, the teenage phenom has already produced six goal involvements in 21 appearances, including a goal against Barcelona and the winning strike against Liverpool.

In short, Estevao is already looking every bit the wonderkid he was expected to be, so it's not all that surprising that the club are now looking at a player who could help get even more out of him.

At least, that is according to a recent report from Caught Offside, which claims Chelsea are one of a few teams interested in Daniel Munoz.

Alongside the Blues, the report has revealed that Manchester United and Manchester City are also keen on the South American game-changer.

Unfortunately, two potential hurdles could prevent this transfer: Crystal Palace's reluctance to sell and the fact that he'll be sidelined by injury for at least several weeks.

However, every player has a price, and the Eagles have sold stars in recent years, so Chelsea should go all out to sign Munoz next year, both for his own ability and the impact he could have on Estevao.

Why Munoz would be a dream signing for Estevao

It'll come as no surprise that, while Munoz's defensive abilities would come in handy at Chelsea, it's his attacking qualities that'd make the most significant difference.

It is also these skills that would make him such an excellent signing for Estevao.

For example, thanks to him being, in the words of one professional football scout, "one of the best RWBs in the Premier League," the Colombian international would be able to constantly overlap with and provide chances for the Brazilian wonderkid.

After all, he is already doing this in a weaker team, and so far this season has racked up a tally of five goal involvements in just 14 league games.

He's not just on a hot streak either; last season, he ended the campaign with a sensational tally of six goals and eight assists in 46 appearances across all competitions.

Unsurprisingly, the former Genk gem's underlying numbers also more than back up his output.

According to FBref, he ranks in the top 6% of full-backs in Europe's top five leagues for shots on target, the top 7% for non-penalty goals and tackles plus interceptions, the top 10% for expected assisted goals, the top 14% for goal-creating actions and more, all per 90.

In other words, when the Palace ace isn't creating chances for his teammates, he's making them for himself.

Just imagine a right-hand side with him and the young Brazilian, opposition defenders would never get a moment's rest.

Ultimately, while it won't be easy, Chelsea should do all they can to sign Munoz in 2026, as he could have a transformational impact on the team and Estevao.
