Five of our men's team's best victories in 2025

As the year draws to a close, our Official Global Betting Partner, [Betway](https://betway.com/g/en/sports), look back through some of our men's team's most impressive wins and exciting moments from 2025.

**Arsenal 5–1 Manchester City**

After coming just moments away from victory at the Etihad Stadium earlier in the season, we were full of confidence when Pep Guardiola and his City side came to Emirates Stadium for the return fixture in February, who were met with one of our best-ever performances under Arteta.

The emphatic win kicked off with a goal from Martin Odegaard after just two minutes, but City came back into contention via a second-half header from Erling Haaland. We roared back and swiftly restored the lead before going on to net three further goals, including a couple of real highlights for the hyped-up crowd.

Myles Lewis-Skelly – just 18 at the time – made it 3-1 with a fantastic run and finish, while another teenager, Ethan Nwaneri, clinched the result and put the finishing touches on an excellent team performance.

**Arsenal 3–0 Real Madrid**

The first leg of our 2024/25 Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid will go down as one of the most unforgettable nights in Emirates Stadium history. The reigning champions came to north London having already knocked out Manchester City and Atletico Madrid, setting up a huge clash as we looked to advance to our first Champions League semi-final since 2009.

Declan Rice and his two spectacular free-kicks are what the game will always be remembered for. The first was an incredible strike, and the second was even better as it flew past Thibaut Courtois into the top corner from 30 yards out.

Mikel Merino swept home a third goal to seal what was a controlled team performance – putting us in a commanding position for the second leg, where we wrapped up the tie with a 2-1 success at the Bernabeu.

**Arsenal 4–0 Atletico Madrid**

Our second fixture of the 2025/26 Champions League campaign brought with it the challenge of Diego Simeone’s tough Atletico team.

Emirates Stadium was bouncing in anticipation of another great European night at kick-off, but a closely contested first half meant it took Mikel Arteta’s men 57 minutes to break the deadlock as Gabriel headed in from Declan Rice’s pinpoint free-kick.

This led to a ruthless 14-minute spell in which we took a commanding 4-0 lead. Gabriel Martinelli made it 2-0 with a curling finish into the bottom corner following a brilliant run from Myles Lewis-Skelly, before our Swedish frontman Viktor Gyokeres then found the net twice in four minutes to put the result beyond doubt.

**Arsenal 4–1 Tottenham Hotspur**

Arguably, our biggest win of the 2025/26 Premier League season came via the eagerly anticipated north London derby, where a hat-trick from Eberechi Eze stole the show against our rivals.

We dominated proceedings in the early stages before Leandro Trossard opened the scoring as Merino’s clipped ball over the top cut open Tottenham’s defence. Eze netted his first goal of the game shortly before half-time to make it 2-0, before adding his second almost immediately after the restart.

Spurs got a goal back through Richarlison, but lifelong Gooner Eze then topped it all off with his third in the 76th minute to make it 4-1, becoming only the third Arsenal player ever to score a hat-trick in a north London derby.

**Arsenal 3-1 Bayern Munich**

Despite the dominant performance against Tottenham three days earlier, our attention quickly turned to Bayern Munich who came to N5 for the game billed as a meeting of the two best teams in Europe, with the sides sitting first and second in the league phase table.

After a dominant start, we took the lead 22 minutes in courtesy of a Jurrien Timber header that flicked past the hands of Manuel Neuer. Bayern hit back as Lennart Karl equalised going into half-time, but we controlled the early part of the second half before Arteta looked to his bench, and Riccardo Calafiori made an immediate impact as his whipped cross found Noni Madueke for his first goal in red and white.

A trademark counter-attack from Martinelli wrapped up the win we deserved, as he knocked the ball past Neuer and rolled it into an empty net, handing the German team their first defeat of the season and putting us top of the Champions League table.
