Liverpool are being linked with further defensive reinforcements but face competition from Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea

Liverpool ‘have joined the race’ for Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz, according to reports.

He has played a huge role in the Eagles’ success under Oliver Glasner and could be viewed as the perfect defensive option to firm up Arne Slot’s men at the back. Liverpool already have Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong at right-back but both stars have spotty injury records which could lead the Anfield club to find a more ever-present star.

Caught Offside report that Liverpool have ‘scouted several right-backs’ in recent months, with Munoz among them. However, Premier League rivals Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have also been credited with an interest.

Pep Guardiola is reportedly a big fan of the player due to the intensity of his pressing and overlapping runs. Munoz has actually missed Palace’s last few games as he has underwent surgery on his knee.

If he is out for a sustained period, it could mean a potential switch away from Palace would have to wait until the summer.

Munoz has previously revealed a desire this year to play for ‘one of the biggest clubs in the world’ such and could see 2026 as his opportunity to realise this dream. He mentioned Man United specifically but did not rule out joining the likes of Liverpool.

In an interview with AS in November, he said: “First of all, I think there’s a lot of talk about one club or another.

“If you ask me, it would be a dream to play for one of these clubs, whether it’s Barcelona, PSG, Real Madrid, or Manchester United. I think I’m working towards that. I strive every day to one day attract the attention of one of these clubs, because for me, it’s a dream to get there.”
