Chelsea are now racing Arsenal for the signature of a Champions League forward, who David Luiz recently described as "incredible."
Enzo Maresca sparked controversy by claiming he'd endured his "worst 48 hours" since taking over at Stamford Bridge, after the 3-0 victory against Everton at the weekend, having received a lack of support, presumably from the board.
The Italian manager has since been reluctant to elaborate any further, however, and when asked whether he has a strong relationship with co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, the 45-year-old simply said: "It’s ok, it’s good."
At the moment, it remains unclear what Maresca's main gripe was, but Jamie Carragher has since predicted he won't remain at Stamford Bridge on a long-term basis, saying: "I don't think Maresca's manager at Chelsea next season. When you come out and speak about your ownership like that and you speak in public, that's a big problem."
It remains to be seen whether BlueCo stick by the former Leicester City boss, but in the meantime they remain keen on strengthening the squad, and they are now in the race for a new forward.
That is according to a report from Tuttosport (via Sport Witness), which states Chelsea are interested in signing Juventus star Kenan Yildiz, who is also being targeted by Premier League rivals Liverpool and Arsenal, alongside Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Juventus are struggling to strike a new contract agreement, given Yildiz's high wage demands, but the Italian club are set to make another attempt to tie him down before Christmas, amid growing interest from across Europe.

The Blues may have to shell out a massive fee to get a deal over the line, should the Turk decide to leave the Italian club, with it recently being revealed Juve are demanding £88m.
"Incredible" Yildiz lauded by Luiz
The Germany-born forward, who is capable of playing on both wings and through the middle, has been in fantastic form so far this season, chipping in with 12 goal contributions in all competitions, notably hailed by European football writer Danny Corcoran as having "Mbappe-like ability."

Former Chelsea man Luiz, who now plays for Pafos, has also been left impressed by the 20-year-old, saying earlier this month: "Yildiz is a phenomenon. He has an incredible style, I love watching him."
Not only has the Juventus star impressed at club level, but he is already an established international, having amassed 26 caps for Turkey, during which time he's scored five goals.
Yildiz is showing signs he could be capable of reaching the very highest level, but there are some doubts over whether the Blues need to bring in yet another young attacker.

The Blues have opened negotiations to sign a Bayern Munich ace.
Both Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer, and Maresca also has the likes of Pedro Neto, Tyrique George and Estevao to choose from in attacking areas.
