Louie Copley and Charles Sagoe Jr scored as Arsenal U21s drew 2-2 away to Enfield Town tonight in a friendly.

It was a much-needed fixture for both sides, who have been without a competitive game for some time.

Marli Salmon and Josh Nichols both started for Arsenal, with Khari Ranson, who was on the bench for the U18s yesterday, called upon in goal.

U18 players Abraham Owusu-Gyasi and Alex Marciniak were named on the bench along with Daniel Oyetunde, whose youth loan spell at St Albans recently came to an end.

Lucas Nygaard was also named amongst the substitutes. The goalkeeper is seemingly still on loan at Brabrand but the Danish club don’t play again until March.

**Subs: Stevens, Oyetunde, Marciniak, Owusu-Gyasi. Not used: Nygaard, Clarke.**

Arsenal opened the scoring through captain Copley but Enfield soon managed to equalise as Billy Leonard scored.

Osman Kamara was deployed on the right wing and he found Demiane Agustien, whose attempt hit the woodwork.

Nichols then pushed forwards prior to having an effort deflected over.

Arsenal introduced Archie Stevens and Oyetunde in place of Kamara and Harrison Dudziak. Incidentally, Dudziak has emerged as a potential loan target for Enfield.

Sagoe Jr managed to restore Arsenal’s lead, with Marciniak and Owusu-Gyasi entering the fray.

Enfield equalised through Elie Ackason and the game ended level despite Copley having an effort cleared off the line late on.

Arsenal U21s will return to competitive action on January 9th when they host West Bromwich Albion in Premier League 2.
