Manchester City host Premier League rivals Brentford in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been in good form of late and currently sit second in the Premier League table, having reduced leaders Arsenal’s advantage to just two points.
The Citizens also beat Real Madrid 2-1 in the Champions League last week, and are on course to qualify automatically for the knockout stages of the competition.
Despite City being in fine form, it appears that Guardiola and those in charge of the club are keen to add an England international to their ranks.
As per CaughtOffside, Manchester City have made Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi their top transfer target as they look to overhaul their backline.
The report claims that City are keen to evolve their defence, and have identified Guehi as a prime candidate to do exactly that.

Guehi, 25, is in the final year of his contract with Palace and is set to leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season.
Over the summer the England international came close to joining Liverpool, but his proposed move to Anfield fell through in the final hours of the window.
Liverpool are said to retain an interest in the central defender, which could set up a battle between the Reds and fierce rivals Manchester City in the race to sign Guehi.
While the defender is set to be available as a free agent next summer, it remains to be seen whether or not interested clubs will attempt to sign the player in January.
Guehi joined Palace from Chelsea back in 2021, having previously impressed while on loan at Swansea City.
Since moving to south London, the Englishman has established himself as one of the most reliable central defenders in the top flight.
He has now played 180 times for Palace across all competitions, and is also a regular for England.
