Horford has been sidelined with a back injury, but head coach Steve Kerr shared a positive update on Tuesday. According to ESPN's Anthony Slater, Kerr said Horford's back issue has healed and that he is back on the court.
Kerr added that Horford is nearing his return and has been upgraded to doubtful for Thursday's game against the Phoenix Suns.
The veteran has missed 14 of the Warriors' 27 games this season, including eight of the last nine, and has been out for four consecutive contests.
After spending the previous four seasons with the Boston Celtics, Horford entered free agency this past summer and chose to sign with Golden State on a two-year, $12 million deal.
In 13 appearances this season, the former All-NBA center is averaging 5.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 21.5 minutes per game.
The Warriors head into Thursday's road matchup in Phoenix with a 13–14 record.
