"I can see him..." - Former Liverpool hero makes massive prediction over Mo Salah's future

**Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has predicted where he thinks Mohamed Salah could move to if he decides to leave the Reds.**

Salah is now away on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Egypt, and it remains to be seen what his decision will be regarding his future.

It does feel as though clear-the-air talks with Arne Slot have helped matters, but that’s not to say that Salah will stay put at Liverpool beyond January, especially if he isn’t guaranteed regular starts.

Speaking to _JeffBet_ \[via [GOAL](https://www.goal.com/en/lists/mohamed-salah-tipped-to-make-shock-return-to-serie-a-liverpool-legend-reveals-solution/blt84660171a0efc77d)\], Hamann claimed that the 33-year-old could decide to return to Serie A, where he once shone for both Fiorentina and Roma:

_“If Salah doesn’t want to accept that he won’t play, and keeps talking about not having the backing of the manager, then he and the club need to find a solution. That solution may be that they go their separate ways. I don’t think Salah wants to go to Saudi Arabia because he rejected an offer last year. There would be European clubs still interested in him._

_“The top clubs in Spain, Germany and England may not want to sign him, but I can see him going back to Italy, maybe. That league is known to bring experienced players in and bring them back to their best. Inter Milan has signed similar players in recent years. I can’t see him joining Bayern Munich or the two Spanish giants. The top clubs in England don’t need his services either.”_

**Would a return to Serie A suit Mo Salah?**

--------------------------------------------

Going back to Italy does seem possible for Salah, with Serie A undoubtedly a slower division than the Premier League, potentially allowing him to excel more in it.

Heading to the Saudi Pro League would feel like such a waste at this point in his career, with the Liverpool legend still easily good enough to be plying his trade in Europe.

Frankly, seeing Salah remain at Anfield is still the best outcome, though, certainly until the end of this season, and the hope is that he feels his future lies there after speaking to Slot.

When the summer arrives, fresh conversation can then be had, with Liverpool possibly willing to cash in on him a year before his contract expires, but a January exit would have few positives to it.
