Oyetunde hoping for chance to impress with Arsenal U21s

Daniel Oyetunde made his debut for Arsenal U21s as a schoolboy against Burnley in the Premier League Cup in January 2023 but the striker has still yet to fully establish himself at that level.

Oyetunde, now aged 19, has been named on the bench for the U21s on several occasions and has also featured in friendlies at that level as well as having trained with the first-team.

The youngster signed his first professional contract in the summer and recently had a short youth loan at non-league side St Albans City, for whom he scored his first senior goal against Dulwich Hamlet.

Following a change of manager Oyetunde wasn’t given many further chances at St Albans and he subsequently returned to Arsenal when his loan spell expired.

Last night Oyetunde featured as a substitute in a friendly against Enfield Town and he will hope to be involved when the U21s return to competitive action in January.

Andre Harriman-Annous is currently out injured but Charles Sagoe Jr is capable of filling in as a central striker, while younger players like Louis Zecevic John, Ceadach O’Neill and Kyran Thompson can also play there.

Oyetunde can also operate out wide if required and offers a lot in terms of work-rate and technique, so he will hope that he receives playing time soon.
