Liverpool now interested in signing Premier League ace with one"ridiculous"attribute - report

Liverpool have now reportedly joined the race to complete the signing of Crystal Palace wing-back Daniel Munoz, as they look to do important transfer business in 2026.

The January transfer window will give the Premier League champions a chance to bolster their squad, with the Reds lacking depth in several key areas.

A new centre-back is surely needed in January, especially with Joe Gomez now picking up an injury and Giovanni Leoni out for many more months, but wide attacking additions could also be looked at.

Meanwhile, right-back has been a problem position, with Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley in and out of the team through fitness issues, and the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones having to play there.

According to a report from Spain, Liverpool are keen on signing Palace wing-back Munoz, seeing him as a strong option to bring in.

Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City are also mentioned as potential options for the 29-year-old, scoring three goals and registering two assists in the Premier League this season.

Do Liverpool need to sign Munoz in 2026?

Munoz is an impressive player for Palace, arguably standing out as one of the best players in his position in the Premier League, and being hailed by Clinton Morrison:

“Munoz is one of the best right-wing-backs in the Premier League at scoring goals. His energy – he’s not tired, because I heard he’s got ridiculous energy – he’s up and down non-stop.”

While it is easy to see the quality that Munoz could bring to Liverpool’s team at both ends of the pitch, from energy to end product, they should still have enough depth there when Frimpong and Bradley are both fully fit.

The Colombian is also now 29 years of age, as mentioned, turning 30 by the time next season gets underway, so he wouldn’t represent a long-term addition.

His peak could suddenly pass in no time at all, which would be a poor position for the Reds to find themselves in, especially as Palace would surely only sell him for a hefty amount of money, with his current deal expiring in the summer of 2028.
