The 17-year-old winger was injured during the Youth League match against Eintracht Frankfurt last week. He landed awkwardly after colliding with opposing defender Yannis Ahouannou and immediately asked for a substitution, leaving the pitch in tears and screaming in pain.
Nomoko was operated on at the Hospital de Barcelona by Dr Joan Carles Monllau, the same surgeon who operated on Gavi and Joan Garcia this year, under the supervision of the clubโs medical services.
After the operation, Barcelona announced that he will need a full year to recover completely, meaning Nomoko will not wear the blaugrana shirt again until almost 2027.
This serious injury represents a major setback for Barรงa Atletic, as the Spain youth international is one of the standout talents from La Masia and had become a regular in Juliano Bellettiโs plans.
In his debut season with Barรงa Atletic, Nomoko had made 14 appearances, scoring two goals and providing three assists, and had been knocking on the first-team doors.
