The Warriors are currently sitting below the .500 mark a third of the way through a season that has left a lot to be desired. The team’s owner made it pretty clear he doesn’t see eye-to-eye with some of the decisions Steve Kerr has made while replying to a fan who sent an email criticizing the current state of affairs, but the coach doesn’t seem to be overly concerned with his comments.
At this point, it’s clear the Warriors dynasty came to an end after the team secured its fourth championship in eight years in 2022. Golden State has made the playoffs in two of the past three seasons, but they’ve been hampered by some slow starts in every campaign that’s been played since their most recent title.
That is once again the case this year, as the Warriors opened up the season at 4-1 but have largely struggled to find their rhythm. They fell to 13-14 after losing their second game in a row in a 136-131 loss to the Trail Blazers on Sunday while squandering a 48-point performance from Steph Curry, and one fan went out of his way to email owner Joe Lacob to express his displeasure.
Lacob didn’t waste any time responding while placing some of the blame on Steve Kerr’s shoulders, and that development came to the attention of a head coach who doesn’t seem too bothered by what he had to say.
Steve Kerr denied that he and Joe Lacob have any major issues after the Warriors owner expressed some frustration in an email to a fan
On Sunday night, a 27-year-old Warriors fan from Panama named Justin Dutari tracked down Lacob’s email address and shot the owner a message lamenting the team’s reliance on Steph Curry and the unbalanced roster he asserted some of their woes could be traced back to.
Lacob responded exactly two minutes later with a message where he said he shared similar frustrations, noting “style of play” and “coaches desires regarding players” were factors in the team’s disappointing performance.

On Tuesday, Kerr confirmed he was aware of that message when he got the chance to respond to it at a press conference, and anyone who was hoping it would be the source of some juicy drama is going to be disappointed.

Here’s what he had to say:
“It’s not a big deal. I’m not concerned about anything like that.
We’re all frustrated. Joe is frustrated, I’m frustrated, Steph and Dray; everybody’s frustrated, and this is kind of how the league works. I hate when people post private emails. Imagine if everyone’s emails were just publicly posted, how tough that would be to live our lives.
Joe supports me 100%. I support him.”
The Warriors will have the chance to snap their current skid against the Suns on Thursday.
