Despite the win, the Knicks will not raise an NBA Cup banner at Madison Square Garden, Shams Charania reported.
The team reportedly wants to keep the focus on bigger goals — winning the NBA title in June — rather than celebrating the Cup with a banner, Ian Begley wrote on X.
The organization is still proud of its players and staff, who delivered a historic performance during the tournament. Fans will have a chance to celebrate the team during Friday’s home game, where players will be recognized and cheered by the MSG crowd.
Each Knicks player will also earn $530,933 for their championship run, along with a commemorative medal marking the victory.
