Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns Celebrates NBA Cup Title With Timothee Chalamet

The New York Knicks captured their first championship since 1973 on Tuesday, December 16, and while it was just the NBA Cup, as opposed to the NBA Finals, there was plenty for the tortured fanbase to celebrate.

That included Marty Supreme himself, actor Timothée Chalamet. Chalamet, 29, is an avid Knicks fan, and New York star Karl-Anthony Towns FaceTimed him from Las Vegas after his team took down the San Antonio Spurs, 124-113, in a comeback title-game win.

"Marty Supreme approved," wrote Towns, 30, over a screenshot of their conversation, shared via Instagram.

On the next slide, he showed that he also FaceTimed Ben Stiller, another New York diehard. (Spike Lee, the celebrity most associated with Knicks fandom, was courtside, taking it all in live.)

Towns finished the game with 16 points and 11 rebounds, battling a calf injury to help his team gut out the win.

During the Knicks' run through the 2025 NBA Playoffs, Chalamet became one of the most visible celebrities supporting the team courtside at Madison Square Garden and on the road.

He and girlfriend Kylie Jenner proudly sported their Knicks gear during New York's Eastern Conference Finals series against the Indiana Pacers, even drawing some boos when they took their fandom to Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana.

ESPN's Pat McAfee, who played eight seasons for the Indianapolis Colts, took the mic before Game 4 and proclaimed to the crowd, "Spike Lee is here. Ben Stiller is here. Timothée Chalamet is here. Let's send these sons of b****es back to New York!"

The crowd, naturally, booed the celebs mightily and the Pacers beat the Knicks that night, 130-121.

"It's ok. He must be playing around," Stiller, 60, wrote after the game via X. "if it's an actual point of view it seems a little anachronistic or cliche? Like we are ‘big city celebs' and we shouldn't be there in the heartland? Again, everyone we met was awesome and incredibly cool."

In addition to celebrating with his teammates and stars over FaceTime, Towns was also able to find girlfriend Jordyn Woods, who made the trip to support him. The two began dating in 2020 and Woods, 28, has been a regular at his games, first with the Minnesota Timberwolves and now with the Knicks.

Just over a month ago, she surprised Towns with a refurbished version of his mom's old car for his 30th birthday. Towns' mom died in 2020 and was one of eight relatives he lost due to complications from COVID-19.

"During the summer Karl asked me if I could drive any car for a day which one would it be.. I answered and his response was, ‘I wouldn't pick anything crazy, I just really loved my mom's car she had when I was a kid,'" Woods wrote via Instagram in November, alongside photos and videos of the car.

"So I went on a mission these past months to find the car, shipped it across the country, got it fixed up and was able to surprise him with it today for his 30th! 🥲❤️."
