Liverpool are gearing up for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur. Tottenham have lost four of their last seven league games and will face a Liverpool side unbeaten in their last five matches. The Reds have a strong recent record against Tottenham, claiming six wins in the pair’s last eight meetings across all competitions.

The Merseysiders won both Premier League meetings with Spurs last season, 6-3 and 5-1. They are the only team to score 5+ goals in three consecutive league games against the same opponent, achieved against Norwich from September 2012 to December 2013.

The Premier League champions are unbeaten in their last four league games, picking up four points from their last two away trips. Liverpool have scored in 25 of their last 26 Premier League games against Spurs, including the last 19 consecutive matches. Their only longer scoring run in the competition is against Arsenal, currently at 20 games.

Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur is the highest-scoring fixture in Premier League history with 206 goals. Their last three league meetings have produced 21 goals, and 14 of their last 16 encounters have seen at least three goals.

Elsewhere, two Liverpool youngsters, Shadrach Ekiugbo and Vincent Joseph, have been called up to England’s Under-16 squad for a December double-header against the Netherlands. Vincent Joseph scored a hat-trick as England defeated the Netherlands 4-2 on Wednesday at St George’s Park. The Young Lions will take on the Netherlands again on Thursday, December 18.
