Everton and Arsenal team news ahead of the Premier League clash at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton look to pull off an upset when they welcome Premier League leaders Arsenal to Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday (20.00 GMT).

David Moyes’ side know they will be in for a difficult evening but will still feel they can get a result. The Toffees are ninth in the Premier League table, perhaps higher than some might have expected at the beginning of the season, and will have taken plenty of positives despite a 2-0 loss at Chelsea last weekend.

They face an Arsenal side that are favourites to win the title for the first time since 2004, but Mikel Arteta’s side did need two own goals to beat basement side Wolves 2-1 in their previous game.

Both teams have injury concerns ahead of the game. Here’s a look at the early team news for both sides.

Everton team news

Idrissa Gana Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye - out

The key duo might be unavailable for the best part of a month as they represent Senegal at AFCON. The Lions of Teranga are expected to go far in the tournament, having been crowned winners in 2021.

Jarrad Branthwaite - out

The centre-back is back training on the grass after having to undergo hamstring surgery in October. Branthwaite is yet to make an appearance this season and he will need time to get up to speed.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - major doubt

The attacking midfielder suffered a cruel blow on his return to Chelsea as he was forced off in the 16th minute. Dewsbury-Hall sustained a hamstring issue and they usually take more than a week to recover from. It will be a hammer blow if he is unavailable, having been one of Everton’s star players.

Merlin Rohl - doubt

The summer signing from SC Freiburg is working his way back to fitness after having a hernia operation last month. Rohl is also back on the grass but Everton will have to make a call on whether he’s ready.

Seamus Coleman - doubt

The Everton captain has been unavailable since hobbling off with a hamstring injury during the 1-0 win at Manchester United. Coleman will not want to rush back to fitness.

Jack Grealish - minor doubt

The Manchester City loanee felt his hamstring against Chelsea, according to Moyes. Everton will carefully monitor Grealish’s fitness and they’ll be desperate he can feature with Ndiaye absent and Dewsbury-Hall likely to be missing.

Arsenal team news

Gabriel Magalhaes - out

The Brazil international is currently unavailable with a groin issue.

Cristhian Mosquera - out

Another Arsenal centre-back who is unavailable as the former Valencia man recovers from a groin problem.

Kai Haverz - out

The striker has yet to play for Arsenal this season because of a knee complaint. He’s getting closer to a return but still unavailable.

Max Dowman - out

The prodigious 16-year-old has a foot problem meaning that he cannot be called upon from the bench if required.

Ben White - major doubt

The versatile defender picked up a hamstring problem against Wolves so it is unlikely that he will be recovered in time.
