The decision was confirmed by James Jones, Executive Vice President and Head of Basketball Operations.
Udoka made the comments after the Rockets lost 128-125 in overtime to the Denver Nuggets on Dec. 15 at Ball Arena.
The game went down to the final possessions, with Houston pushing the 2023 champions into extra time.
The Rockets are currently sitting in fifth place in the Western Conference, holding a strong 16-7 record and continuing to establish themselves as one of the more competitive teams in the conference this season.
