Anthony Davis, D'Angelo Russell and Brandon Williams are all listed as questionable on the NBA injury report for Thursday's game against the Detroit Pistons. Russell is recovering from an illness, while AD is dealing with a left calf contusion. Davis being listed as questionable is not especially surprising after he missed Monday's 140-133 loss to the Utah Jazz, but Williams' injury situation — as he's dealing with right Achilles soreness — is uncertain.
Williams' questionable status suggests he may be available to play against the Pistons, though. It is worth mentioning that all three players went through a full practice on Wednesday, according to Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News.
Williams, 26, is averaging 10.8 points, 4.2 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals per outing across 24 games played (nine starts) this season. He has made a big impact for the Mavs, who have dealt with injury concerns throughout the 2025-26 campaign. Now it is Williams who is dealing with an injury of his own, but there is a chance he will play on Thursday.

Dallas will enter play with a 10-17 record. While the Mavericks have seen an overall improved performance in recent weeks following their lackluster start to the year, the team is still in 12th place in the Western Conference.
Meanwhile, Detroit leads the Eastern Conference with a stellar 21-5 record. The Pistons are 2.5 games ahead of the second place New York Knicks in the East.
There's no question that the contest will be a true challenge for the Mavs. Davis, Williams and Russell's final injury statuses will go a long way toward determining the outcome of the game.
