Donovan Mitchell had a chance to win it at the end of regulation, but missed a 12-foot pull-up before the Cavaliers went 0-of-10 from the floor in the extra session. Darius Garland led Cleveland with 26 points and nine assists, Mitchell finished with 17 points on a 6-of-24 shooting afternoon, and Jaylon Tyson came off the bench for 16 points and 13 rebounds.
The Bulls couldn't put together back-to-back wins for the first time in nearly a month, falling to the visiting New Orleans Pelicans 114-104 on Sunday night. Coby White scored 20 points for Chicago in the loss, while Kevin Huerter added 16 points and four steals off the bench. Nikola Vučević went for 12 points and eight rebounds.
The teams met on Nov. 8 in Cleveland, with the Cavs taking a 128-122 victory. The Cavaliers got Jarrett Allen back on Sunday, but are without Defensive Player of the Year Evan Mobley (calf) for the next two to four weeks. Chicago won't have guard Ayo Dosunmu (thumb) on Wednesday night. Mitchell averages 30.7 points for Cleveland, with Garland getting 15.5 points and 6.5 assists per game and Allen notching 14.0 points and 7.3 boards a night. White nets an average of 21.7 points, with Josh Giddey putting up 20.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game.
