Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton feels the buzz in town like the rest of us.
The Broncos have the best record in the NFL at 12-2. The Avalanche have the most points in the NHL with 55. And the Nuggets are off to a stellar 19-6 start, the best in franchise history.
After practice on Wednesday, Sutton was asked about all three teams being legitimate championship contenders and Denver at the center of the sports universe.
“It’s super dope to see all three of us having success at the same time. I’ve got a chance to talk to a couple of the Nuggets players and I tell them it’s our turn to bring a parade to the city,” Courtland Sutton said.
The Nuggets held a parade in 2023 after winning their first ever championship. The Avalanche did it the summer before with their third title. Sutton is well aware of the accomplishments both have had in the past few years.
“The Avs have won the Stanley Cup recently, the Nuggets have won the NBA Finals recently and we unfortunately haven’t had success since 2015. So, we feel it’s our turn to do our part for the city,” Courtland Sutton said.
The Broncos last Super Bowl did come in 2015 and then it was brutal for nearly a decade. Last season provided hope with a playoff berth and in 2025 the sky is the limit.
Courtland Sutton is excited for all three teams and where these journeys could end.
“Them boys playing some great ball and great hockey and it’s exciting be a part of. I know people around the United States are definitely shocked that the state of Colorado bumpin’ right now,” Sutton said.
It is bumpin’ around these parts for sure. Now, in the next seven months, Denver is hoping for one, two or even three parades.
