Chelsea are back in action this weekend when they travel to Newcastle United in the Premier League and football.london has taken a look at the injury list at Stamford Bridge...

Careful Cole Palmer process to manage fitness: Although he is back on the pitch and scoring, his playing time is being strictly limited to ensure he does not play multiple games in a short period. He scored in the win over Everton but was left out of the squad altogether at Cardiff.

Estevão Willian's muscle problem. Like Palmer, he missed the recent Carabao Cup victory over Cardiff and is expected to sit out the upcoming match against Newcastle to ensure a full recovery. "He had a small problem, a muscle problem," Maresca said. "He won't be available for Newcastle, and we'll see for the next one."

Liam Delap boost: While he will miss the remainder of the 2025 calendar year, medical staff have confirmed there is no fracture, and he should return in early January. Delap suffered a shoulder injury against Bournemouth at the start of the month.

Romeo Lavia problems remain: Manager Enzo Maresca has expressed caution regarding the midfielder's return timeline, as the medical team is still assessing whether the issue is short-term or long-term. He last played for Chelsea on November 5, picking up a "muscle problem" in the draw to Qarabag.

Dario Essugo's minor setback: After undergoing surgery in September, his recovery has been slowed down to prevent a more serious complication from developing. He initially returned to training November before suffering another setback.

Levi Colwill the only long-term absentee: The defender is expected to miss most of the current season, with a potential return date not anticipated until the spring or summer of 2026. Colwill picked up an anterior cruciate ligament injury after returning to pre-season at Cobham.
