When Viktor Gy ökeres was signed by Arsenal in the summer, many thought the Swede would prove to be the difference maker as the Gunners mounted another title challenge.
This after all is a player who had scored nearly 100 goals in the Portuguese top flight for Sporting.
But nearly five months down the line, there are doubts as to whether he was the right fit for the North London club, with just six goals to his name, although he did miss several games ewith a muscle injury.
He has looked off the pace required for the Premier League, and, although always a low touch player, he has struggled to make an impact in many games.
And although Mikel Arteta continues to praise his work rate and insists the goals will come, supporters are entitled to expect more of a player who was meant to be the missing link for this team, with Mikel Merino, nominally a midfielder, enjoying better success in front of goal.
