Crystal Palace’s Marc Guéhi will be key for Inter Milan to sign Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté in the winter market, according to L’Interista.
The two centre-backs have contracts expiring in June. Oliver Glasner has already announced the Crystal Palace player won’t sign an extension.
Earlier this month, we covered claims from Italy that Liverpool are willing to sell Konaté for €15m in January.
L’Interista report the Liverpool star is their priority target and Inter are ‘most actively evaluating’ the possibility of signing him.
The Serie A side have prioritised strengthening their backline next month. Therefore, they will launch an assault to take the 26-year-old away from the Reds. Arne Slot’s side are said to have offered a discounted price of €15m due to his contract situation.
Inter Milan’s Stefan de Vrij could leave in the next window. It’s claimed his exit ‘is tied to Konaté’s arrival’, while the France international’s departure from Anfield depends on Guéhi moving to Liverpool.
The report explains that only if the 25-year-old Crystal Palace defender joins Liverpool, Inter will be able to sign Konaté in January.
They are unlikely to be successful considering Glasner informed on Wednesday that Guéhi will finish the season at Crystal Palace.
