Former Chelsea star puts forward three new manager names to the club

One former Chelsea star has put three new manager names forward to the club in case they need to replace Enzo Maresca.

You all know the story by now, Blues boss Maresca has been in the headlines this week after comments made last weekend after his side beat Everton in their last Premier League match.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea legend keen on return to Stamford Bridge and will not ask for big wages!

Maresca has claimed that he has yet to have clear the air talks, or any kind of talks with the sporting directors after all the drama this week.

But it’s clear to see who the fans are siding with as Maresca went to celebrate with the them at full time after the Cardiff win and was well received by them. That’s another crucial ingredient in the fascinating soap opera developing behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge.

So with all this going on comes tensions between the manager and the club, and therefore plenty of speculation about his future, short and/or long term.

This has bought on some comments from former Blues star Salomon Kalou.

In words cited on SPTC today, Kalou said:

“It’s important to say Enzo Maresca has done a lot of good work at Chelsea, and the club will want stability. But if results don’t improve, naturally speculation will grow.

“My former team-mate Frank Lampard is one name that stands out for me. He’s doing amazingly at Coventry right now, showing he’s learned from his previous experiences. He knows Chelsea inside out, he’s a club legend, and with more maturity and tactical growth, he could do well if given another chance.

“Andoni Iraola is another coach who has impressed in the Premier League with his intensity and pressing style. He’s shown he can adapt quickly and get the best out of his players.

“Then there’s Régis Le Bris. He built his reputation at Lorient by developing young talent and playing progressive football, and now at Sunderland, he’s showing he can translate those ideas into a different environment. That combination of nurturing players and tactical innovation makes him an intriguing option for a club like Chelsea.”
