FC Barcelona are taking the search for young talent very seriously and are actively working to secure several high-potential players with the aim of strengthening the reserve team and, in the medium term, also the first team.
As already reported, Al Ahly teenage striker Hamza Abdelkarim is a key target for Barça, with an offer already made to sign him on loan in January with a permanent buy option.
Barcelona were alerted to Abdelkarim’s talents at the recent U-17 World Cup, and it appears that another young prospect managed to catch their attention at the tournament.
Indeed, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Barcelona are interested in signing Club Brugge’s young left-winger Jesse Bisiwu, who, like Abdelkarim, stood out at the recent U-17 World Cup in Qatar.
In fact, Barça’s sporting department has already met with Bisiwu and his entourage to try to convince him to join the club. The plan would be for him to feature primarily with the reserve team while gradually being integrated into first-team dynamics.

Bisiwu, who currently plays for Brugge’s reserve team Club NXT, is known for his explosiveness down the wing. His performances for Belgium at the U-17 World Cup did not go unnoticed by Barça or by other clubs.
The Belgian winger is not considered an absolute top priority by Barcelona, but he is one of the shortlisted candidates to reinforce the squad.
As things stand, Bisiwu, contracted until 2027, has not yet made a final decision about his future. Club Brugge would like to keep him, although they are aware that this will be difficult given Barça’s interest.
At present, the operation is more focused on the summer transfer window, but Barcelona are in need of an attacker now for the reserve team and could try to accelerate negotiations to bring the player in sooner.
Bisiwu turns 18 in January, which makes a transfer legally possible, potentially via a loan with a purchase option agreed with Club Brugge. More meetings are set to take place between the two camps and it remains to be seen how things progress.
