The daughter of late Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant has been granted a five-year extension for her restraining order against an alleged stalker after he was witnessed trying to deliver flowers to her family in August.
Natalia Bryant, now 22, was originally granted a restraining order against Dwayne Kemp in 2022 – two years after he allegedly began contacting the teenager. But on Monday, after what Bryant attorneys described as Kemp's renewed attempts to contact Natalia, a Los Angeles County judge extended the order while amending it to protect Kobe's widow, Vanessa, as well as their other surviving daughters, Bianka and Capri.
Kobe and daughter Gianna were among nine killed in a 2020 helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. The other members of the Bryant family were not on board.
According to court files obtained by the Daily Mail, Kemp is accused of breaking the previous restraining order on August 24 by attending an event organized by Natalia and her employer.
'At the August 24th event, Kemp brought flowers that he intended to give directly to Ms. Bryant, but when he could not locate her, he instead attempted to deliver the flowers to Ms. Bryant's mother, Vanessa Bryant, with the intention that those flowers be delivered to Ms. Bryant,' read a November filing from Natalia's attorney.
'Kemp's effort to contact Ms. Bryant indirectly through her immediate family member, namely her mother, demonstrates his continued fixation and complete disregard for the [Civil Harassment Restraining Order's] prohibitions,' it continued. 'Upon encountering security, Kemp admitted his conduct would violate the CHRO, but Kemp stated that his conduct was now permissible because he believed (mistakenly) that the order had expired.'

Security images included in the court filings show a man, purported to be Kemp, holding a bouquet of flowers. A similar bouquet was posted by Kemp online, as seen in those filings.
'Robert Lara stated that on August 24, 2025, while attending Kobe Bryant Event at LA Live/ Crypto.Com Arena he was advised that Suspect Dwayne Kemp was at the location with bouquet of flowers,' read the filing. 'Lara responded to the location where the Suspect was detained by security staff. He immediately recognized him as the Suspect that Victim Natalia Bryant has current restraining order against him.
'During an interview the Suspect stated that he brought flowers for Vanessa Bryant (Victim's mother). He was hoping to give them to someone, to pass along to her on his behalf. During the interview the Suspect acknowledged that he knew that Vanessa Bryant was at the event but knew that the Victim was not there.
'He also stated that if the Victim was there he would have done the same thing. The Suspect also stated that he thought the restraining order had expired and that the event was open to the public.'
Adding to the Bryant family's concerns is Kemp's alleged affinity for firearms, which he repeatedly discussed on social media. The filing claims Kemp has one registered firearm and includes photographs of him holding an assault rifle.

The Bryants' eldest daughter, Natalia was just 17 when Kemp began contacting her as a 30-year-old months after the tragic deaths of her father and sister, according to her attorney.
What allegedly began with direct messages over social media is said to have escalated to urgent attempts by Kemp to speak with Natalia. In one alleged incident, Kemp tried to make contact with her at her sorority.
A letter from the University of Southern California is included in the court filings, warning Kemp he will be 'subject to arrest and prosecution' if he returned to the campus.
Additionally, an LAPD letter addressed to Kemp from a Detective A. Camarillo in 2022 warned Kemp to stay away from Natalia.
'Your behavior has caused Natalia Bryant concern and fear, prompting the Los Angeles Police Department's Threat Management Unit to initiate a police investigation into your communications with Natalia Bryant,' the letter read. 'Any actions by you toward Natalia Bryant will be evaluated, and charges brought.'
Bryant's attorney did not immediately respond to the Daily Mail's request for comment.
Attempts to contact Kemp have been unsuccessful thus far.
