Former New Orleans Saints preseason player Samson Nacua was recently arrested for allegedly stealing Los Angeles Lakers player Adou Thiero's SUV, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Samson is the brother of Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Puka Nacua.
The incident happened over the weekend, NBC4 Los Angeles reported.
Two men, including Samson Nacua, allegedly took Theiro's car without his consent. Deputies were called to the One Hotel in West Hollywood, where the vehicle was tracked. The suspects valeted the car and went into the hotel.
It is unclear when or where the SUV was stolen, according to law enforcement.
The suspects identified were Samson Nacua, 27, and Trey Rose, 27. Thiero, 21, is a rookie for the Lakers who has played in nine of the first 25 games this season.
Both Samson Nacua and Rose face a charge of taking a vehicle without the owner's consent and remain in jail, according to a report by NBC4 on Wednesday. It is also unclear if either suspect has an attorney who can speak on their behalf.
Samson Nacua was on the Saints' preseason roster in 2024, but he didn't make the final cut. His biggest preseason play with the Saints was a 106-yard kick return.
