Liverpool player confirms Anfield exit

Liverpool spent over £400million during the 2025 summer transfer window on high-profile signings, including Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, underlining the club’s ambition to remain at the top. Attention is now turning to the upcoming January transfer window, with the Reds linked to several potential additions. Mohamed Salah continues to dominate the headlines after returning to the Reds’ squad against Brighton before departing for the Africa Cup of Nations. Despite positive showdown talks with Arne Slot on Friday, the winger’s future remains unresolved following his recent outburst against the club.

Discussions between Salah’s representatives and Liverpool are expected to continue, but the Reds may already be assessing possible replacements. Slot’s side entered the 2025/26 Premier League season as defending champions, but their title defence has fallen well short of expectations. Despite their record-breaking summer spending, performances have been inconsistent so far as they lie seventh in the league table.

Away from the first team, U16 academy goalkeeper Harry Lee Frith has announced his departure after more than seven years at the club. Highly regarded within the academy, Frith was part of the squad that travelled to Japan to face a J.League select side this summer. Kai Morral is another young player to leave Liverpool, having joined Leeds United.

Harry Lee Frith said on his Instagram page: “After over 7 years at Liverpool Football Club, the time has come to say goodbye. I have been proud to represent the club across the world and I would like to sincerely thank all the staff and coaches who supported my development, both professionally and personally. I am grateful for the opportunities, experiences, and relationships formed along the way. I now look forward to the next chapter in my football career.”
